Anyone remember the 2008 film Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise?
Probably not a question you expected to be asked today of all days…in 2017. But the film, which takes place during World War II, has made it’s way back into the cultural dialogue — and not because of anything happening in politics. No, no. It has everything to do with Tom Cruise’s booty in a single shot of the film.
Intrigued? We thought so.
So, here it is. The original tweet, by the appropriately named @iluvbutts247, that got the internet thinking:
The peach emoji is shaking in its boots.
The person who discovered this clearly believes Cruise is wearing a fake butt for safety purposes during the stunt.
he does his own stunts, people wear ass pads all the time, but it’s the SHEER EXTREMITY of the rump’s robustness that jacks this up

There are many who agree with him, but there are plenty of other theories as well. Some people on Reddit think it is in fact a CGI butt. That isn’t impossible, but it does raise the question…why would that be necessary?
Ok, fair point.
Though others have speculated that is, in fact, a very specific stunt double.
Trump was his body double for that shot

Unlikely…but who are we to rule out anything?
And then there are the people who are giving the actor a whole lot of credit for just being in amazing shape.
It’s a stretch. I mean do we really know if Tom Cruise skips leg day?
It really all comes back to the safety pads for the stunt. Further evidence includes Toby Maguire in a similar backside situation in Spiderman.
However, there is one especially strong theory that blows all the rest of ’em out of the water:
Pretty sure that is a real butt wearing a fake tom cruise

Look, we won’t no anything for sure until Tom Cruise decides to speak up about this whole bootylicious ordeal himself.
