We’re not surprised to see this.
After making a very controversial joke about assassinating
The whole thing started when Johnny was speaking about Trump while presenting his movie The Libertine — when the crowd began to boo at the mention of Trump, he commented:
“When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?”
“I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump. It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.”
This apology also comes after the White House issued a statement in regard to Johnny’s joke. They basically condemned the 54-year-old for suggesting violence should take place — while asking Democrats to condemn it as well.
The original joke was definitely in poor taste since assassinating someone isn’t exactly hilarious. Not at all.
Hopefully everyone continues to condemns violence no matter where it’s coming from or who it’s directed toward.
